The breath of God

Jun 08, 2014

We have looked at and meditated about the Whisper of God, and then the Roar of God. Now we will look at the causation of all: the Breath of God. Genesis puts it: “And The Lord God —- breathed into his nostrils the Breath of Life –” (Genesis 2-7). “The Breath of Life” —- this is the essence of the universe, not just human, or conscious Life, but everything that exists.

Life. This four letter word is the essence of all that is, was, or ever will be, in all eternity. Life — we only see the the tip of what we call Life, for when all is examined in the form of the smallest of the smallest particle, we see life. Perhaps I am defining the term “Life” in a more general sense, for life as we normally know it means self-replicating species, asexually or sexual in nature. But a study of the basic fundamental nature of everything in the universe shows that nothing is “not-life”, everything is forming, reforming, can be a particle or a wave, or both simultaneously. Nothing can be absolutely pinned down, and everything is always shifting and becoming something new. Now, this something new may take a few billion years to happen, but it is a continuous process, never stopping, never even to be pinned down to be stated “This is what it is”, for the cloud of a particle is always a little “off”, never able to be defined with absolute certainty.

So we see “Life” defines everything that exists, every breath we take, every move we make, every object or “thing” we touch, hear, see.

What we have defined is the “Breath of God” is our universe. Everything is moving, breathing, acting according to the impulses that fill our universe. Nothing is still, unchanging. Everything is acting according to the quantum energy that drives the very small, but also drives all that is, usually acting according to what is expected, but occasionally acting at odds to what is expected, the unknown creeping in, the tiny spark that unites with another tiny spark and produces a change, a shift in the present moment that is unexpected. Thus a Mozart is born, an Einstein appears, a Jesus roars on the scene.

THIS is the Breath of God!

The breath of God is the Creative process that produces you, and you, and even me. As each new life branch is created, the shift in the process is unique for that one, and each and every one of us appears, right on schedule, with no set path to follow, no rigid formula to obey, but to act according to the urging from within, the Kingdom of God that lies within each of us.

Life is so central to all that is, that we can truly say that another name for God (I am sure you have noted that I use many names for The Eternal Spirit) is Life! Life is the conscious force that fills everything, spun the Big Bang, sparked Inflation, set the boundaries of our universe, set the terms of the constants and physical laws that permitted conscious life to emerge from the action of star dust, and brought us to this discussion. Life is the core of the energy patterns of the universe, and as we all know, energy can not be destroyed, just changes form when boundaries shift. Thus everything is full of Life, the Breath of God.

This path leads us to make the most crystal clear statement possible about the relationship of the universe and the Being we call God: All is Life, not just full of Life, but the Essence of Life. Thus When the Eternal Spirit Breathed, the universe was formed. Or, in another way of saying it, the Universe is the Breath of God, the DNA of the Eternal Wisdom, and we conscious beings are the fruit of the Breath of God, the children of the universe, the bearers of the DNA of the Eternal One we have named God, among other names.

God and Life are one, the same, identical, with no separation. When we say God we say Life, and when we say Life, we say God.

God = Life

If all of the universe is Life, vibrating in the flow of Life, we are part of the essence of all, every particle flowing, nay, overflowing with life, or God. Nothing is not God, and everything is deserving of the reverence we give Life, God, or any Name we give this force. Our universe is a testament to the Eternal Wisdom, just as the mesmerizing sight of sitting by the ocean and watching the waves, roll in, roll in, roll —- holding our consciousness in the spellbinding repetitive motion of the power of the sea.

If we look at the path of life as we live it, we can see the circle of all, truth in that we all life, never ending. Look at our own cycle: we eat to live, requiring protein and carbs and other nutrients to sustain our life. But where do these food components come from? We look at the food chain, and we see how one layer feeds on the next: we eat the beef, our beef eats grass, oats, and other life giving nutrients. But where do these come from? Grass pulls the nutrients from the fields, filled with rich hummus and sources of vitamins.

But where do these sources come from to make the feed? They come from the earth, decaying matter that was once life that creates a soil capable of furnishing nutrients to the feed stock of our meats, or the food stock we harvest, such as lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, etc. All of these products use nutrients taken from the soil. These nutrients are, today too often supplied using artificial means (but even these are products of nature in new combinations), but eventually all have to come from the makeup of the soil. Soils are a mixture of ground rock, rotting growth, water (called the elixir of life) and other particles that help create the next stage of Life. These rocks come from the core of earth, or compressed matter over the billions and millions of years where great pressures are applied. These rocks and stones are ground finer and finer to create what we call earth, but they came from the dust left over after a star burst in our universe some 6 billion years ago, releasing carbon and other new particles created in the furnace of our parent star. These dust clouds condensed, forming our Sun, and the planets that spin around the small yellow sun that we call home.

So life continues. We die, top of the food chain. We then decay back into dirt and dust, and the chain starts again on our small rocky core. And once again a new consciousness is formed, and another soul speaks and learns.

The breath of God continues, in and out, gently pulling life forth in ever more vibrant forms.

Meditation.
